Q: Is Xavier a private school? A: No. Xavier is a public charter school. We are open to the public, but we are run independently of the South Bend School Corporation.
Q: Do I need to pay tuition for my child to attend Xavier? A: No. Because Xavier is a public charter, we are funded in the same manner as the public schools, but we are allowed to run our school independently.
Q: Is there a cap on class sizes? A: Yes. Classes are limited to 26 students, with 2 classes at each grade level. The school can admit a maximum of 52 students at each grade level. If the class you request is already filled, your student will be placed on the waiting list with a possibility of admittance if another student withdraws.
Q: Can my child be denied admittance to Xavier? A: Your child will only be denied admittance if the grade level is already filled by the time an application is submitted. Your application will be kept on file at the school in the event that a spot opens up for your child. Xavier does NOT discriminate based on academic performance, ethnicity, gender, or religious affiliation.
